
A Level Art will teach you to critically study artists’ work and use this to support you in developing your own ideas, approaches and techniques in a range of media including oil painting.
You will leave this course with a varied portfolio of project work to support you in any future interviews for employment or further study.
All components are internally assessed and externally moderated.

Entry Requirements
- Grade 5 in GCSE Art
- Grade 4 in GCSE Maths
- Grade 4 in GCSE English Language and/or Literature

AQA | Art and Design | A-Level | A-level Art and Design (Art, craft and design)
Component 1: Personal Investigation 60% – a portfolio of practical work showing a response to a stimulus, brief or scenario.
Component 2: Externally set task – Questions set by AQA with a 15 hour controlled test personal response.
Careers
Students who complete this course can progress onto a degree course specialising in Fine Art, Illustration, Textiles, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, Animation, Furniture Design, Theatre Design, Architecture and more. There is also the option to move straight into employment or an apprenticeship in a specialism of your choice.
Enrichment
Students are expected to make visits to their local galleries, or galleries further afield to inspire their work. Galleries have included Bradford, Keighley, Leeds, Wakefield, Halifax, London, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool or galleries abroad.
